See previous blog post to sign up. Again, this will count as your class attendance for Thu, 3/11 and we will *not* have regular class that day. Instead, you will show up to your conference with me, I will give you feedback for revising your in-class essay, I will give you instructions for the major revision assignment, and we can talk about your performance in the class. Appointments are 15 minutes long; do not be late because there will be someone scheduled right behind you.

What is one specific thing that you can do differently to improve how you're doing in this class? (Note: Please no vague answers like "do more of my work." If you have not been completing all your work, what is one SPECIFIC thing you should do differently to make sure that you will start getting it all done on time? If you've been keeping up with everything, perhaps there are additional things that can ensure that you do even better. For instance, have you stopped by the Writing Center at all?)

I've turned in all my work with no problem so far. I would have to go with maybe visiting the writing center. I haven't gone this semester yet and I'm sure I will get feedback on my major papers to help me get a better grade on the final draft.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I think I need to do is probably actually spend less time doing my english homework. As crazy as this seems, I spend more time doing my english homework that by the time I'm done doing it, I'm too tired to do my math homework. This has effected my math grade. I think in the future, I do my math work first, since it's more time consuming than the english homework.
ReplyDeleteUntil the This I Believe assignments, I believe that I had turned in all of my work. For some reason I never got the memo to get the book, so right there is something that i can do better and that's make sure I am always on top of whats going on in class. I also need to make school my number one priority because I haven't so far. I also need to make sure I do all the homework that is assigned and read everything that is assigned.

ReplyDeleteI am having trouble keeping up with our homework and class assignments beng listed in so many different places. Its getting me confused. I am keeping up as best I can, so I am not sure of what I ca do to make it better. I could probably start by buying the This I Believe book.
So far I have turned in all my homework, but some of the areas that I probably could acctually work on include possibly visiting the writing center if and when I can to improve my writing skills. Even though I havn't visited it at all, I really plan to consider it possibly next time if and when we have a major writing assingment..
ReplyDeleteI believe that I have been doing really well in this class so far. I think my writing and grammer skills need to be improved on. I should go to the writing center the next time we have an essay to do or even meet with Sarah and ask for her help.
ReplyDeleteI have been really good about keeping up with all the work. One thing I can work on is using the writing center. I haven’t used it at all this semester even though there has been two essays already. For this revision I will go. I will make time to go. The class has been going really good so far.
ReplyDeleteas far as i know i have been getting all my work done. all writing and esp assignments have been completed i think. I believe the only thing i missed is a blog response but thats just because i got lazy. maybe i should try to do things sooner. The writing center has been an option but i dont think there is much they can help me with that i dont already know. Not to say i cant learn a few things but if it comes down to it i will give it a try because i know i have some minor issues in grammar.
ReplyDeleteI've had a hard time keeping up with all the work in our class. I don't know if it's because I focus too much in my other classes, if it's working full time, or if it's going out during the small amount of time I have to myself. I know I should gradually work on my homework, rather than wait to do all of it at once. It's just hard to want to do it. I always feel better when I get it done, but I for some reason feel the need to wait until the last minute. I really need to work on my timing. It's just hard when I always have something going on. I have been trying really hard to complete everything to improve my grade, and I hope it's working. I do know that I can do better, and I will see what I need to do at my conference.
ReplyDeleteI've had a hard time keeping up with all the homework and classwork. I have 3 other classes that I hace to also focus on and when I know that I need to do the homework for the classes I start getting confused on which homework to do first for my classes. I also need to work harder on not taking a long amount of time on doing my homework. I believe that If i attend the Writing Center at least oncve a week, I will do better in this class and I won't have so much stress put on me with all my other classes.
ReplyDeletei have been turning in all of my homework on time. i need to start keeping track of what the homework is and where to find it. i also think that doing some of the activities on the connect writing web site can really help my writing.
ReplyDeleteone thing i can improve to better myself in class is to actually start my assignments as soon as you assign them and visit the writing center more often to get help on my writing. i dont have a problem turning in my assignments on time it turning them in comlete and revised correctly. i need to revise my work and get two or three people to revise it too so that when i turn it in it will give me a higher grade and good comments from the teacher.
ReplyDeleteSo far I have turned in all of my homework assignments except for one blog response. I try to do my best to complete everything on time. For my next paper I plan on visiting the writing center because I want to get a higher score than my first essay. Also I would like to see what feedback the tutors can give me about my writing maybe it will help me out for future writing.
ReplyDeleteI feel that I am not working up to my potential because I'm am a little foggy on some old writing techniques like comma placement and sentence structure. This is something that can easily be taken care of if I go to the writing center and get some help. I feel that I am participating enough in class, but I'm not writing as effectively as I should be. In going to the writing center I hope to clear up any confusions I have about punctuation.

ReplyDeletegetting every assingment complete on time and actually going to the writting center will help me but i get lazy. i would like to participate more in class as well. I need to set up a schedule so i can have a solid two to three hours each of my homework assingments
